Traveling can mess with your skin from various disruptors. But I never thought much about my routine away from home. A friend and I happened to return from separate trips and noticed a trend in hydrating face masks on our visits throughout Asia. Stateside, we noticed the men’s market hadn’t quite been tapped yet, and a lack of Asian American representation.

We spent two years researching factories, materials and developing our own formula to release MIANN’s Suizenji Nori Hydrating Face Mask. It was a real learning experience and pushed us out of our comfort zones. Sometimes you have to create your own opportunities.

Packaging Design

I’ve always wanted to do packaging so I gave myself the opportunity to do that. I approached the packaging design with a focus on the story of getting healthier skin with specific textures.

Following the story was incorporating our product into your routine by designing a functional box that made our face mask accessible and looks great anywhere you place it.
